Babalwa Latsha returns as captain in one of three changes to the Springbok Women starting XV for Sunday’s Test against Spain Women in Seville.
The tighthead prop replaces Xoliswa Mdliki, who drops to the bench, as co-coaches Laurian Johannes-Haupt and Franzel September largely stick with the team that beat Italy last weekend.
Xoliswa Khuzwayo comes in at loosehead prop in place of Sanelisiwe Charlie, while Patience Mokone replaces Maria Tshiremba on the left wing.
There are also several changes among the replacements for the Bok Women’s final match of their WXV Global Series tour to Europe.
Lindelwa Gwala takes over from Micke Gunter as the replacement hooker, while Danelle Lochner comes onto the bench in place of Nomsa Mokwai.
Yonela Ngxingolo, who started against Italy, moves to the bench and is set to earn her 49th Test cap.
Mary Zulu, who joined the squad on Monday as an injury replacement for Libbie Janse van Rensburg, has also been included among the replacements and will provide cover at flyhalf and fullback.
“With this being the final leg of our tour, it was another opportunity for us to freshen up our match-day squad before we head into the last two matches against Ireland in Cape Town,” Johannes-Haupt said.
“For this match, we wanted to give some players the chance to get a run and show us what they can do.”
Sunday’s Test kicks off at 12pm (SA time).
