SL vs IND: Come the 15th, we will be ready: Gambhir

India head coach Gautam Gambhir has backed the team to be fully prepared for the upcoming Test against Sri Lanka, starting on August 15.

Speaking in a video shared by the BCCI, Gambhir made it clear that India is ready for the big challenge. “Come the 15th, morning, whether we are padding up first or bowling first, we’re absolutely ready with every answer to every question that’s thrown at us, and we’re ready to respond,” he said. “So make sure we tick all the boxes from now on.”

The head coach also welcomed new members to the setup and praised their hard work and achievements. He congratulated Saransh Jain and Auqib Nabi on earning their places in the national setup.

“Guys, welcome everyone,” he said. “We’ve got a couple of new guys in. To start with, Saransh, congratulations. You’ve worked extremely hard to be here. I’m sure it will make your family and the country proud whenever you get that opportunity.

“Secondly, I want to congratulate Auqib. You had a phenomenal last season and helped J&K win the Ranji Trophy, which is a great achievement. Congratulations once again on earning your first national call-up.”

The two sides will play the first Test from August 15 at the Galle International Stadium.
