IND vs ENG: Salt Lays Out England’s Blueprint to Seal Series

England batter Phil Salt stressed the importance of assessing conditions early in order to make smart decisions and execute skills to the best of his ability ahead of the third T20I against India in Bristol.

Salt, who top-scored for England in their record victory in Nottingham, reflected on the lessons learnt from that game during the pre-match press conference.

“It’s so valuable as a batter to have that time to assess the conditions and to make sure you’re making smart decisions and mitigating risk to the best of your ability.”

Salt noted that England have been doing all the right things, while underlining how crucial assessing conditions has been to the team’s success in the ongoing series against India.

“With the way we’re playing, not necessarily just with bat and ball, but with the way we’re assessing conditions, we’re doing all the things that are required of you to be a top team. I feel like we’re doing well at the moment, but the next two games are really important for us.”

As Salt indicated, England’s focus will be on sealing the series against India in Bristol. The visitors will need to win to keep their hopes of levelling the five-match series alive.
