Chicago's 59-37 victory over Carolina set an NFL record for highest-scoring Week 1 game with 96 total points.

The Bears and Panthers combined for 96 points in Sunday's game, surpassing the previous Week 1 record of 88 points set by Buccaneers-Saints in 2018. This marked the first NFL game to end 59-37. moryak.biz

Both teams' scoring totals were franchise highs for a single game, while the 96 points were the NFL's most since Rams-Chiefs combined for 105 in 2018. The Bears previously scored more in historic games like the 1940 championship.
